Canadian Underwriter hosted a free webinar on June 23 exploring the need for brokerages to not just protect their receivables as insolvencies threaten businesses due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The panel discussion featured Karen Ritchie, president of Toronto Insurance Council and vice president of Baird Macgregor Insurance Brokers LP, David Dienesch, board chair of the Receivables Insurance Association of Canada, and president and chief agent of Euler Hermes Canada, and Nancy Babeu, regional sales director of Primaco, a premium financing company.
Discussion by the panellists included the importance of selling receivables insurance, premium financing, the future of paper cheques and why it’s important for brokerages to not be shy to ask their clients to pay their premiums.
