Jennifer Cooke, the director of Export Development Canada’s Inclusive Trade team, aims to inspire entrepreneurs from diverse backgrounds to think big, take risks, and conquer global markets. Her passion lies in assisting women entrepreneurs and those from various communities in expanding their businesses through exports. Cooke takes pride in working for an organization that values diversity and inclusion. Although her official role is corporate strategy and business lead for Inclusive Trade, she sees herself as a conductor, orchestrating efforts within EDC to eliminate bias and enhance access to solutions and services. Cooke’s journey with Canada’s export credit agency began 12 years ago, starting as a senior account manager and later becoming a district manager. She actively engaged with small and medium-sized businesses on the frontlines, supporting their international market success. Transitioning to the position of national lead for Women in Trade, Cooke focused specifically on ensuring that women-owned and led businesses could also benefit from trade opportunities.
