Many companies are increasingly embedding sustainability into their business strategies and for some industries it’s becoming a license to operate. Companies like Unilever, Patagonia, and IKEA have built sustainability into their core mission.
In the insurance industry Allianz Trade has just released it first ever sustainability handbook outlining how it is embedding sustainability into its business operations and products. It details the progress the company made in 2024 and the targets it has set for the years ahead.
Some of the results include:
- 100% of its electricity use is now from renewable sources
- a 60% cut in GHG emissions per employee
- a 78% drop in energy consumption across its operations
- the launch of dedicated squads to promote sustainability principles and drive the implementation of its roadmap at a local scale
