As the G7 convenes in Japan this weekend, the United States is advocating for restrictions on outbound investments in sensitive technologies and the outsourcing of vital production as a future measure to mitigate risks in supply chains and decrease reliance on China. Currently, only China, Japan, and South Korea have imposed certain restrictions, but their extent and coverage are quite limited.
