Insured losses resulting from natural disasters around the globe totalled $53billion in Q1 2025 and marked the second highest total on record behind Q1 2011. The average total for this century is $17billion. Of that total the California wild fire claims accounted for $38billion (see Aon Map below).
The economic impact of these disasters hit an estimated global loss of $83billion with the U.S. losses accounting for $71billion of that figure.
