The 2024 figure is the largest single-year total since 2010, a year marked by the aftermath of the Great Recession. 2024 also surpasses the 635 filings in 2023 and the 638 filings in 2020, which had previously marked the highest level in the past decade due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
