Air strikes on Iran by the US and Israel have the insurance industry considering the possible impact on a variety of insurance lines and global supply chains.

Canadian Underwriter writes that “Marsh Risk is warning Canadian companies concentrated in three critical sectors — high tech manufacturing and defence, oil and gas, and agriculture — will likely be highly exposed.”

But that’s not all. With container ships stranded in the Hormuz Strait and many other shipments suspended, supply chains will be impacted and receivables disrupted, not to mention the massive insured losses if cargo vessels were attacked and destroyed.
