This presents Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) with a unique chance, perhaps occurring only once in a generation, to fortify their economy and diminish disparities. Given LAC’s close geographic proximity to the world’s most extensive consumer market and its comparatively robust institutional and cultural connections to both North America and Europe, it is prudent to contemplate its incorporation into emerging global value chains.
